This immersive nonprofit technology internship offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with multiple impactful organizations — AUCP, VNACS In Home Care, 1st Choice Case Management, and Connexus HSN — supporting their missions through website development, digital innovation, automation, and modern digital tools.
Interns will gain hands-on experience managing live WordPress websites, developing landing pages, optimizing digital user experiences, implementing automation workflows, managing digital NFC business cards, and improving overall digital efficiency across organizations.
This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with leadership, marketing, and operations teams while building real-world web development and digital innovation experience within a mission-driven healthcare and human services environment. It is ideal for students looking to strengthen their WordPress development, automation, AI, and digital strategy skills while building a strong professional portfolio.
WordPress Website Management:
Maintain and update multiple WordPress websites for Connexus HSN and affiliated organizations. Ensure content accuracy, functionality, performance, security updates, and mobile responsiveness.
Landing Pages & Web Tools:
Build and optimize WordPress landing pages, embedded forms, interactive tools, hiring funnels, and campaign-specific pages to support marketing, recruitment, and fundraising efforts.
UX & Accessibility Enhancements:
Improve navigation flow, page structure, and overall user experience. Support accessibility best practices and ADA-conscious design standards.
SEO & Performance Optimization:
Implement SEO best practices within WordPress, optimize metadata, improve page speed, and monitor overall technical performance.
Troubleshooting & Plugin Management:
Assist in resolving WordPress plugin conflicts, theme updates, version management, and general site troubleshooting.
Form & Workflow Automation:
Support creation of automated workflows connecting WordPress forms to email notifications, Google Sheets tracking, dashboards, and internal reporting tools.
Dashboard Development:
Assist in building digital dashboards that track marketing performance, hiring initiatives, and organizational engagement metrics.
Digital NFC Business Cards:
Help manage and enhance Connexus HSN’s digital NFC business card system, including:
Creating and updating staff digital profiles
Maintaining brand consistency across profiles
Embedding lead capture forms
Supporting contact data collection workflows
Monitoring usage analytics and optimization opportunities
Process Documentation:
Develop step-by-step digital SOP documentation for WordPress workflows and digital processes to ensure efficiency and consistency.
AI Tool Research & Implementation:
Research and test AI tools that enhance productivity, content workflows, reporting automation, and digital strategy execution.
Efficiency Optimization Projects:
Identify opportunities where WordPress tools, automation, and digital solutions can reduce manual tasks and improve operational workflow.
Website Analytics Monitoring:
Track WordPress website traffic, engagement metrics, and conversions using Google Analytics and related tools.
Performance Reporting:
Assist in preparing monthly digital performance summaries for leadership.
Optimization Recommendations:
Provide data-driven recommendations to improve website functionality, SEO rankings, and digital conversion rates.
Currently pursuing a degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in HTML and CSS.
Familiarity with WordPress (required).
Experience with WordPress page builders (Elementor preferred).
Understanding of SEO fundamentals.
Interest in automation tools and AI technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
